Planning Your School Visit

All the information you need to plan a school trip to Shortwood.

Tractor rideHealth and Safety

Each visit will begin with a mandatory safety talk. The students will then be shown where the facilities are and where they can wash their hands.

We have a comprehensive risk assessment for all our activities and areas of the farm. Click here to download.

What to Wear

There’s nothing worse than not being prepared for a day on the farm.

Please make sure all of your students are dressed warmly, with plenty of thin layers, appropriate footwear and waterproofs. In the colder months we would advise scarves, hats and gloves are also brought along.

Lunch

Lunch can be eaten either at our inside or outside picnic areas, and our shop will be open during this time.

We recognise how time consuming it can be for younger children to use the shop, so we can also set up a £1 stall outside for the children to choose from.
